Great store massively let down by poor cleanliness standards. The self-checkout area floor was covered with receipts and rubbish. Looked as if the bomb exploded, and no one from the staff seemed to be concerned about this (trips and slips hazard apart from repelling look). Tills themselves are filthy and feel unhygienic. Placing fresh food into a "bagging area" covered in stains and debris? Great for appetite! Rubbish flies around the entrance to the store. Despite the recent refresh, the store feels trashy and makes me want to spend as little time (and money) there as possible. Not what a shopping experience should be like. It is my local large store, and I want it to do well! Currently, it is the greatest advertisement for Waitrose and M&S next door. Please look at your standards! Avoid this store. The staff are unprofessional and very rude. I bought two bottles of lager, each priced at £2.75 each on the shelf, but I was charged £2.95 at the till. When I noticed the overcharge, I asked for a supervisor. She checked the shelf, confirmed the price was wrong, and told me to wait at the till again. I explained it wasn’t fair for me to queue a second time, but she walked off and never returned. When I finally reached the till again, the assistant denied knowing anything about the issue, even though she had just spoken to the supervisor about it. I asked to speak to the manager, but the same supervisor came back, only to say she was “busy” and couldn’t address my complaint. The staff showed no accountability, no courtesy, and no willingness to rectify a mistake entirely of their own making.

A store large enough to find everything you need. The shelves are well stocked with essential items as well as a wider variety of products (gluten-free, exotic, frozen, etc.). I found everything I wanted and more (including products with a short shelf life at reduced prices).
