Thursday 15th Jan ‘2026: First time coming to this hospital! I came to visit a family member, who had her own room and it was nice and clean plus the staff were lovely and helpful. The reception area was busy and it’s the first time going to a hospital and seeing patients lined up on beds out in the open, no privacy. I give thanks that my family member had her own private room. 🙏 I really like the hospital history on the walls and how much black people work there from Drs, Nurses, Porters, Cleaners. I think it says a lot about the NHS and how multicultural it is. Well done to all NHS workers, hospitals wouldn’t be able to function without you all. #anikkaforbes #reviewerofvariety #reviewer #ladyofvariety

I brought my 3-month-old son in on Monday at 2:30am as he was suffering with bronchitis, and we’ve just been discharged. I truly cannot thank Eden enough for the outstanding care she gave us during our stay. From the very beginning, Eden was kind, attentive, and incredibly reassuring during what was such a worrying time for me as a parent. She cared for my baby so gently and professionally, always making sure he was comfortable and closely monitored. What meant even more to me was how she also looked after me. When I was feeling unwell, she took the time to check on me too. When I was cold, she brought extra blankets and covered baby & I whilst sleeping. Every single time I rang the bell, Eden came immediately. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble for her. She always had such a positive tone and uplifting attitude, which made a huge difference to our experience. Even during stressful moments, she remained calm, compassionate, and completely professional. Eden is truly an exceptional paediatric nurse, and we are so grateful for the care, kindness, and reassurance she gave our family during such a difficult time. She made all the difference to us.

My 83-year-old mum was admitted by ambulance on 11th January 2026. On arrival, she was placed in a corridor alongside many other patients. When I arrived at 7am on 12th January, she was still there. However, this was far more than just a corridor — it had effectively become a makeshift ward. There was a doctors’ station, a water station, and visitors were even offered cups of tea. In my opinion, nothing was lacking. The care my mum received was outstanding. The nurses worked incredibly hard to ensure every patient had exactly what they needed. Admissions continued to increase throughout the day, with patients presenting a wide range of needs. I helped a couple of patients with simple tasks such as giving them drinks and assisting with feeding — things that the sheer level of chaos didn’t allow the nurses the time to do. I have no complaints whatsoever — only immense gratitude for the care my mum and so many others received during what was clearly an unprecedented level of pressure. Thank you to all the staff on duty during my visit, with a special mention to Brenda. THANK YOU ALL.

I cannot understand the low ratings for this hospital. Over the 6 years I have lived in Croydon, I have been referred here a number of times, as well as visiting A&E on a couple of occasions, and on the whole have been treated professionally and courteously and in a timely manner. Based on my experience, I would rate Croydon University Hospital 4 stars or higher, so am rounding up my assigned score to 5.

I had an appointment in Restorative Dentistry today (11/02/26) and what a pleasant experience it was! Everyone was so lovely and friendly: The 3 people who helped me with directions, the 2 receptionists, the dentist, the 2 nurses, and Betty the X-ray lady, who was very calm and sweet despite minor theatrics to start with from me! Had to wait a little while (should have taken book and water - rookie error) but that is because the dentist is so thorough with all her patients, which I would much prefer. I was made really comfortable and at ease, Miss Jalili was very gentle. Everything was patiently explained and she is contacting my usual dentist to recommend a deep clean in a couple of areas plus a filling file under anasthetic. Referred to Guys for a 3D Xray, rather than just have a "poke around", my words, not theirs! NB Could have been easy to leave the car park forgetting to pay, but luckily didn't, pay machine not obvious either. I am unfamiliar with the hospital and was lucky to find a parking space as someone pulled out (about 9.45am) but when I left there were a couple of free spaces.
