I have never written a review on google before, but really wanted to do this so that other people get to know Dr Powell. I have never seen a healthcare professional who is so dedicated to his work like Dr Powell. I would give him 6 stars on here if I could! He is an excellent orthodontist, calming/reassuring, and knows his stuff inside-out (he is a consultant). I am glad I chose to be his patient (instead of going with one of the other places I narrowed my selection down to) because it's obvious that he does this for the love of his job. When I was looking around to try and find somewhere to get my teeth done (I’m an adult patient), I got the impression that the other places were more concerned about getting money out of me more than anything else. Even before coming to physically see him, I was able to speak with Dr Powell on the phone a couple of times, and each time I did, I asked lots and lots of questions. This is what won me over - the fact that he is always contactable, and being looked after properly is important to me because Im paying for a service. His clinic also has a nurse who is contactable on her mobile, which is a bonus, and she is really nice as well. Because he is a consultant, he is used to teaching (he lectures at university) so he always explains things very well. This is very useful because when you first get your braces put on, there are lots of little stages so you need to keep coming back, and it’s nice to know what he’s doing for each step. With the other place which I was thinking of going to, although they had a flashy website, it was always difficult trying to contact the consultant orthodontist themselves. All I can say is to not let flashy websites fool you because that wont rescue you if you need urgent help! I am writing this review on google tonight because this evening something happened and I was very grateful for being able to speak with Dr Powell (out of hours) on the phone. He’s an amazing person and I highly highly recommend him. Although it looks like it’s in the middle of nowhere, it’s a 15 minute walk from Raynes Park station, or you can get the number 57 bus which drops you closeby. Overall, an excellent place which I highly recommend. Ive been a patient for a few months now and am really happy with the results so far. I wish I hadn’t procrastinated so much and started sooner!
